The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball team is back in action tonight for the programs first ever home game.  This will be the first meeting between these two teams in what will be a rivalry that will grow throughout the years.

The Gothic Knights started their season with a loss to Rutgers Newark but were able to bounce back with two convincing wins.  NJCU’s volleyball teams are part of the Skyline conference despite being a member of the NJAC in the rest of their sports.  NJCU finished 12-18 last season and were knocked out of the Skyline postseason by Kean University 3-1.

Tonight the men’s volleyball team will play their first ever home match tonight.  Coach Juan Lopez has done a good job with the men’s team getting them prepared for their inaugural season and will look to get their first win tonight against the Gothic Knights. The men are excited to play in front of their home crowd that has anxiously awaited tonight’s game.  Brandon Lei will set up Brian Sheydvassar who leads the team in kills with seven while Kirill Antonov will protect the net as he leads the Dolphins in blocks.
