Today the College of Staten Island Baseball program is scheduled to take on #2 SUNY Cortland in a doubleheader today at 12:00 pm at the Tomas D. Morales Field, while the Staten Island Softball program will take on Hunter College in a CUNYAC doubleheader at 12:00 pm.

The Dolphins last took on Lehman College in a non-conference matchup in the Bronx, NY.  Staten Island won, 11-8, in a come from behind victory to claim their seventh game of their last eight.  Glenn Glennerster went 3-for-5 with two homeruns, four RBIs, and two runs and now leads the Dolphins in homeruns on the season.

The last time these two teams played each other was on March 2, 2013 in Myrtle Beach, SC where the Dolphins were swept in a doubleheader, 2-6, and, 1-10.  The Dolphins would go on to have a phenomenal season that year and went, 30-12, and won the CUNYAC Championship. Staten Island is, 0-4, against the Red Dragons in a series that dates back to 2011.

The Red Dragons are ranked No. 2 in the nation and are currently on a one game win streak. Cortland ranks third in DIII in batting average with .359 and eighth in the nation in scoring as they are averaging 9.4 runs per game.
The Dolphins last took on the Bulldogs of Brooklyn College in their first CUNYAC action of the season.  Staten Island was able to sweep the Bulldogs, 5-0, and, 7-2.  Nicolette Trapani had her best outing of the season with 10 strikeouts and moved to, 4-2, on the year.  With the pair of wins the Dolphins moved into second place in the CUNYAC behind the undefeated Hunter Hawks.

The Dolphins are, 44-32, all-time against the Hawks and have won the previous 9 meetings.  CSI plays much better at the CSI Softball Complex against the Hawks then they do on the road as they boast a, 22-8, home record. The Dolphins last saw the Hawks in the CUNYAC Final where they were able to defeat them, 5-1.
