After another week on the diamond, the Dolphins shined to the tune of another pair of weekly citations from the City University of New York Athletic Conference.  Freshman outfielder Glenn Glennerster was awarded the conference’s Rookie of the Week honor, while Mike Fitzpatrick was given Pitcher of the Week honors.

Glennerster started the week off with a bang, two of them, scoring a pair of homeruns in an 11-8 win over Lehman College, part of a 3-5 afternoon where he drove in four runs.  Glennerster would go on to bat .375 on the week (6-16), with five RBI and six runs scored.  In CSI’s doubleheader sweep of St. Joseph’s – Brooklyn on Sunday, the outfielder went a combined 2-5 with a RBI, three runs scored and a pair of walks.  For the season, Glennerster has taken over the team lead in hitting with a robust .415 average, placing second on the squad in RBI and walks.

Junior hurler Mike Fitzpatrick earned a single start this past week and helped score CSI its second shutout of the season.  Fitzpatrick pitched the full seven innings against St. Joseph’s on Sunday, as CSI posted a 4-0 win.  He gave up just six hits, walking three and fanning four.  For the season, he now boasts a 2-1 record with a 5.74 ERA.

CSI went 3-2 during the week, and will have another busy week of activity this week, weather permitting.  The team gets underway with a 6:30pm matchup against Mount Saint Mary College on Tuesday at the CSI Baseball Complex.
