The College of Staten Island men’s soccer team has opened up the season with six straight losses and need to turn the tide.  The unit will look to regroup on its home field this afternoon, when they take on New Jersey City University as part of non-conference play at the CSI Soccer Complex at 4:00pm.

Players To Watch (CSI):  Ilir Papraniku scored his first goal of the season in CSI’s 4-2 loss to Farmingdale, and is looking to build on the performance.  Nicholas Bacarella scored in last year’s 3-1 win over NJCU.  He leads the team in shots with 13 but he is yet to score this year.
Players To Watch (NJCU): NJCU is being paced this year by Tyler Krychkowski’s and Abdou Touray’s two goals apiece.  Last year, Krychkowski played goalkeeper for NJCU, making four saves.
News and Notes:  These two teams have been meeting since 1978, making it one of CSI’s longest running out of conference rivalries.  NJCU had won five-straight over CSI prior to the Dolphins winning last year’s contest, 3-1.  CSI is 5-5 all-time at home against NJCU, but have not beaten the Gothic Knights on home turf since 1999.
