Staten Island hit .165 as a team and had three more kills as the Dolphins swept City College of New York, 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-22) in the Dolphins’ fourth CUNYAC match of the season.

Staten Island (3-4, 1-3 CUNYAC) had a 31-28 differential in kills over CCNY (2-9, 1-3 CUNYAC), posting 11 kills in the opening set while hitting .179.  The Dolphins added another 11 kills in game two and hitting a game high .241 lead by Selma Kolenovic who hit .529 with 10 kills in the match.

These two teams were evenly matched all match as neither team really jumped out to a large lead.  Down two early in game one Siobhan Granich stepped up and served two aces in a row to tie the game up 9-9. The Dolphins would surge passed the Beavers at this point and go on to take game one 25-19.

Game two saw the Dolphins hit a season high .241 in a 25-18 win over the Beavers.  The Dolphins jumped out to a 5-0 lead early in this game before CCNY came roaring back and dammed the Dolphins’ attack.  Kolenovic came up big towards the end of the game, securing the kill to set up CSI for the win.

Game three was an extremely close game as the Dolphins were down late before they called a timeout which changed the tide and allowed CSI to come back and get the win on the back of a pair of aces from Skenderjie Mila.
Brittany Minondo added 24 assist in the match and three service aces.

The Dolphins are back in action on Saturday at 12:00 pm when they take on Old Westbury here at the College of Staten Island.
