The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team finished 17-12 a year ago, and despite having graduated a trio of seniors, the team is in prime position to make a championship run, and that will begin with the introduction of the 2015-16 competitive schedule.  The 25-game slate will commence on November 14 and will conclude with the CUNYAC Championship in late-February.

CSI will get things started against St. Joseph’s College (LI) on Saturday, November 14, at 2pm on its home floor, and will face Drew University at home four days later before embarking on their one and only tournament of the year.  That will take place on November 20-21 at Kean University in Union, NJ.

CSI will open up the CUNYAC season on Tuesday, November 24, travelling to Hunter College for a 5:30pm tip-off.  The Dolphins will play their first three CUNYAC tilts on the road before their conference home opener on January 5 against City College of New York.  Thirteen of CSI’s final 14 games will be against CUNYAC competition, and seven of their final eight games will be played at the Sports & Recreation Center.

The home portion of the season will end with Senior Night against Baruch College on February 12, at 5:30pm.

The CUNYAC Postseason Tournament, which will have a new format this season, will begin on Friday, February 19, with seed Nos. 5-8 playing in the first round.  The winner of those games will play in a second leg of the tournament on February 21, before semifinal play opens at CCNY on February 24.

CSI home games are free for all CSI students, faculty, staff, and children under 12, and are PG-CLUE Certified for all students.  General admission is $5 per ticket in 2015-16.  Many of CSI’s games this season will be broadcast on WSIA, 88.9FM, and live streaming video is available for all home games and many away games via CSI SportsNet at www.csidolphins.com/CSISportsNet
