FIRST ANNUAL SWIMMING & DIVING MEET ENDS WITH GREAT SUCCESS

The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming & diving team held their first ever Alumni Meet today in the CSI Sports & Rec Center.

The young alumni squad swam valiantly this afternoon but the current squad outlasted the alumni and beat them in eight of 10 events. John Pignatelli led the alumni in one of their wins with his outstanding acrobatic feats off of the 1 meter diving board.

Tim Sweeney showed great mid-season form in the pool as he glided through the water with ease to help his squad earn a pair of victories. Samantha Escobedo shined bright picking up top places finishes in her events to aid the Dolphins the victory over the alumni.

When asked what he thought about the event Coach Michael Ackalitis said “We had a great turnout, 11 swimmers & divers showed up and had a great time. It was a nice for the current students to meet some of the past swimmers and race against them in the pool”.
