The men’s and women’s swimming squads will dive into the pool tonight for their first CUNYAC dual meet of the season against Brooklyn College at 6:00pm. The men are reigning CUNYAC champions and will want to start their season off on the right foot while the women will look to pick up their first win of the young season.

Players To Watch (CSI): Tim Sweeney is the anchor of the men’s unit and is coming off of a super season where he was named the CUNYAC Championship Meet MVP. Look for swimmers like Stephen O’Driscoll and Derek Villa will look to provide ample supporting points. On the women’s ledger there is no doubt that two central pieces are Dakota Dawkins, CSI’s Female Athlete of the Year a year ago and Ewa Wojciechowska, the CUNYAC Championship Meet MVP and multiple record holder. They will look to guide the Dolphins again this season.
Players To Watch (BC): Valerie Vassilieva will be a force to reckon with in the pool for the women as she recently finished in first place in the 50 fly with a time of 30.55 as well as 1:10.64 in the 100 IM. Kevin T. Leung will be the front runner for the men as he will try to lead the Bulldogs passed the Sweeney led Dolphins.
News and Notes: The women have graduated two of their better divers and will need some of the new faces to step up to earn those points on the boards for the Dolphins. The men loss some point earners on the boards as well and will need to pick up more points in the swimming events to supplement that loss.
