The College of Staten Island women’s soccer squad clinched an entry into the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament for the first time in their history, and the team will learn who ts first-round opponent will be this afternoon as part of the NCAA Selection Show. The complete bracket will be announced this afternoon at 1:00pm in a live broadcast hosted HERE, ort at http://www.ncaa.com/liveschedule/2015/11/09. The link to the broadcast will go live a few minutes before the show airs.
CSI earned a berth into the tournament by virtue of their 2-1, overtime, win over Lehman College in the CUNYAC Championship on Saturday, and will be one in a field of 64 teams that advance to the national tournament. For CSI, it was their seventh CUNYAC Championship. Beginning in 2012, the CUNYAC carried an automatic bid into the tournament. CCNY advanced in 2012, followed by Brooklyn College in 2013 and 2014.
