The College of Staten Island men’s volleyball squad takes to the road tonight to take on CUNYAC opponents John Jay College.  Tonight’s match will be the second of a three game CUNYAC stretch and the Dolphins will look to improve upon their conference standings starting with a win tonight.

CSI vs. JOHN JAY COLLEGE AT-A-GLANCE
Matchup:  CSI (4-14 overall, 2-8 CUNYAC) vs. John Jay (11-6 Overall, 8-2 CUNYAC)
Where:  John Jay College – 524 W 59th St, New York, NY
First Serve: 7:00pm
All-Time Series: John Jay leads 2-0
Last Year’s Result:   Dolphins lost both 1-3, 0-3
Players To Watch (CSI):  Kevin Rosero is coming off of a four kill night against the Bulldogs of Brooklyn college while hitting .000.  Rosero is a strong outside hitter that will only get better as the season goes on and will certainly help the Dolphins in the future as Rosero is just a freshman.  Justin Edwardsen who has been a staple in the Dolphins’ attack since the start of the program will continue to cause issues for opposing defenses as his height allows him to see over defenders and get clean looks on where to spike the ball.
Players to Watch (JJC):  Jack Palleschi is the Bloodhounds’ offense as he has accumulated 228 kills through 17 matches this season and is currently averaging 4 kills per set. Palleschi also leads the Bloodhounds with 28 service aces and will try to exploit the Dolphins’ serve defense which is one of the teams that allows the most aces against. Nicholas Anderson will look to confuse the Dolphins with his passing and allow his teammates to get uncontested shots at the Dolphins.
News and Notes: Staten Island’s volleyball squad is currently on a seven match losing skid and will hope they will be able to snap that tonight against the Bloodhounds as well as pick up the first ever win over John Jay College.  The Bloodhounds had their six match win streak snapped by Regis College on Wednesday and will look to return to the win column tonight.
