The College of Staten Island men’s tennis squad took to their home court for the second time this season.  The Dolphins took on the Berkeley College (NY) Knights at the CSI Tennis Bubble at 4:00 pm in a non-conference match.  Staten Island took the match 8-1 and improved to 2-1 overall while the Knights dropped to 0-1 overall.

CSI got off to a great start in doubles, securing a comfortable 3-0 lead.  Chris Livoti and Alex Tsui took down their opponents on court one by a score of 8-1 while Andrew Adia and Brandon Nickel did their job on court two by winning 8-3.

Matthew Verci took on Jonathan Wilson in no. 1 singles and took the first match 6-0 before Wilson was forced to retire the second match.  Mitchel Voloshin picked up a nice win on court three.  Voloshin would take the first match 6-0 before falling 4-6 in the second which forced a tie breaker round which Voloshin was able to power through and pick up a 10-6 victory.

On court four Tony Francis handled his opponent by picking up a 6-4 and 6-1 victory and secured his first singles win of the season.

The Dolphins will return to action on Saturday, March 26 when they take on Farmingdale State at 12:00 pm at the CSI Tennis Bubble.
