“HIPSTORY:” A Presentation by Artist Amit Shimoni

Hillel at CSI invites the entire campus community to meet artist Amit Shimoni on Tuesday, Mar. 15 in Building 2N, Room 107 from 2:30pm to 4:00pm. Amit is a young Israeli illustrator and designer who lives and works in Jaffa. He graduated from Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem with a degree in visual communication, which is considered to be one of the best in Israel. Amit is best known for his project HIPSTORY, a series of illustrations that depicts world leaders as hipsters. HIPSTORY seeks to re-imagine the great leaders of modern history and to place them in a different time and culture–ours. It allows us to continue to connect to these leaders and their ideologies as we reflect on how we think of ourselves and the figures who inspire us. Amit’s work has gained worldwide recognition, and he is especially proud to produce affordable art so that everyone can partake in HIPSTORY.

Refreshments will be served.
