This summer, we will be welcoming our incoming students for the Fall semester at SPLASH: CSI’s New Student Orientation program. SPLASH is designed to help new students become familiar with the CSI campus, its academic programs, and the breadth and depth of our student and academic support services. In addition, SPLASH is also an opportunity to help new students navigate through their initial advisement and registration for their first semester of classes with the overall goal of easing the transition experience to the College community.
At this time, I am reaching out to encourage your participation in SPLASH for the June – August 2016 programs by serving as a volunteer to assist and support specific components of the orientation events. The SPLASH sessions are scheduled to occur on the following dates:
June 9 and June 10 (Thursday and Friday)
June 14 and June 15 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
July 5 and July 6 (Tuesday and Wednesday)
July 13 and July 14 (Wednesday and Thursday)
July 20 and July 21 (Wednesday and Thursday)
July 27 and July 28 (Wednesday and Thursday)
August 3 and August 4 (Wednesday and Thursday)
August 10 and August 11 (Wednesday and Thursday)
August 22 and August 23 (Monday and Tuesday)
Volunteer support is needed on both days of the orientation programs, including assistance with check-in activities on Day One of each event and helping to guide new students through their registration sessions on Day Two of each event. Volunteers are needed to welcome students to CSI and to help check them into the orientation program. Volunteers are paired with a New Student Orientation Leader, and will assist a Leader at a check-in table.

Support from the campus community is needed for each of these activities to ensure the success of these programs. If you are interested in volunteering at SPLASH, please consult with your department supervisor regarding your intent to participate in the orientation activity on the dates and times listed above.
