The College of Staten Island women’s volleyball team is back on the hardwood tonight.  They will take on Yeshiva University in a 7pm showdown in a match played at Baruch College.  The Dolphins are 1-2 on the young season, looking to gain momentum before another round of CUNYAC competition this week.

Players to Watch (CSI): Junior Vanessa Reyes is coming off of a solid weekend, where she was able to spread out a team-high 17 kills in CSI’s trimatch CUNYAC split.  Victoria Wong had a very busy afternoon with 56 total digs as well, part of her team high 65 this season.  Sandy Mila is pacing the Dolphins at the service line, leading the way with a healthy 13 aces this season, accounting for a third of the team’s output in that department.
Players to Watch (YU): Gavriela Colton is pacing the squad so far with 25 kills through five matches so far, while Sarah Rowan is immediately behind at 23.  Setter Yael Ghelman is off to a solid start with 47 assists this season, while Shaina Hourizadeh is the anchor on the back line with 42 digs to start the 2016 campaign.
News and Notes: CSI has won the last two meetings in the series, including a 3-1 affair last season.  Senior Siobhan Granich had a huge night last year vs. Yeshiva, accounting for 12 kills on 24 attacks.  Reyes added eight kills and a career-high 11 service aces.  In their five overall meetings, only two have gone straight sets.  The Dolphins are 2-1 all-time against Yeshiva on the road, including a 3-0 win over the Maccabees in 2014 when they played at Baruch College.
