Players To Watch (CSI): Kevon Murphy has been outstanding as of late.  He recently was named to the Tournament of Heroes All-Tournament Team with 28 points and 20 rebounds spread over two games. Murphy most recently collected a career high of 28 points and 12 rebounds in a crucial win over Baruch College on Wednesday night.  Murphy’s presence inside has continued to grow as the season goes on and looks to be one league’s top interior players in the CUNYAC. Muphy has pushed himself to second on the team in scoring with 12.5 a game while also grabbing a team high 7.2 rebounds per game.  Those numbers are tied with fellow inside man, Khaleeq Baum who has recorded the exact same numbers as his teammate.  Dishing the ball around and allowing his teammates easy shots is Frank Schettino who is coming off of a 13 assist night.  Schettino leads the squad with 15.9 points per game while also adding 7.9 assists per game, good to be ranked 4th in the nation among all Division III players.
Players To Watch (MEC):  Maurice Swaby II leads the Cougars with 20.7 points per game in just six starts this season. Swaby II is also the best three point shooter the Cougars have as he is shooting 45% from behind the arc. Shaquan Mitchell is the teams assist man, tallying 3.8 per game while adding 5.9 points per game.  On the glass, Timothy Bush cuts team off from having second chance opportunities as he is currently averaging a team high 7.6 rebounds per game.
News & Notes: The Dolphins were on a 10-game win streak until a 82-83 defeat at the Sports & Recreation Center last season.  It was the Cougars’ first win over the Dolphins since the 2012 campaign.  The scoring between these two squads tends to be a high scoring as over the last 10 meetings the winning team has had 83+ points. Staten Island will look to start 6-0 in the CUNYAC for the first time since their historic 2013-14 season where they finished 16-0 in the CUNYAC and 28-3 overall. CSI has struggled on the road this season, posting just a 2-5 record compared to their 5-1 record at home.  The Dolphins are scoring 72 points per game on the road which is on par with their season average. Medgar Evers has played just one game at home this season and it turned in to a narrow 61-60 win over York College.
