The College of Staten Island baseball team will look to break their five game winless streak this afternoon when they take on the Bloodhounds of John Jay College.  Today’s doubleheader will be played at the CSI Baseball Complex but is a home game for the Bloodhounds who come into today’s game on a two game win streak.

Players To Watch (CSI):  Frank Sconzo played well in the Dolphins’ last outing where he finished the second game 1-for-3 with the lone RBI for his team in a 2-1 loss.  Overall Sconzo is batting .278 on the year with 10 hits and three RBIs.  Pacing the Dolphins is freshman Nick Meola with a .371 batting average with seven RBIs.  Anthony DiMarco has been outstanding in the field for the Dolphins this season and has 27 assists with no errors on the year for a perfect fielding percentage.
Players To Watch (JJC): The Bloodhounds are led by Zach Hyde with a .429 batting average.  He had a team-high 18 hits and is second on the team with a home run.  Cleaning the bases is Dylan Laudano who leads the Bloodhounds with 10 RBIs and two home runs while placing second with a .333 batting average through 12 games this season. Christian Rodriguez has pitched 14.2 innings this season, the most by any Bloodhound, and has 10 strikeouts which also leads the way.
News & Notes: The Dolphins are currently on a 15-game win streak over the Bloodhounds that dates back to the 2012 season. Over that 15-game span the Dolphins have downed the Bloodhounds by an average of six runs a game. Today’s doubleheader will be the first CUNYAC challenge for the Dolphins as they look to secure their third straight CUNYAC title.
