The Women’s basketball team sits at the No.3 seed as they face No. 6 John Jay College in the 2nd round of the CUNYAC Quarterfinals. The Dolphins will look to advance in post-season play on Tuesday in the Semifinals against No.2 Lehman College.

Players To Watch (CSI): Christina Pasaturo, recently named Player of the Year, who’s ranked 10th in the nation in scoring, averaging 22.4 points per game. Pasaturo is second on the team with 7.2 rebounds per game and first with 4.6 assists per game. Samantha Flecker and Victoria Crea were both named to the CUNYAC Second Team. Flecker is second on the team averaging 15.8 points per game and first on the team with 8.8 rebounds per game. Crea averages 10.5 points per game and is second on the team with 3.9 assists per game.  
Players To Watch (JJC):  Cassandra Taylor is first on the team averaging 13.9 points per game and 2.1 assists per game. Dana Nicholson is second on the team averaging 9.3 points per game. Uju Nwaigwe is a dominant presence under the boards, averaging 7.9 rebounds per game.
News & Notes: The last meeting between the Bloodhounds and the Dolphins, Staten Island closed out the first stanza, 26-7 and dominated the rest of the way.  Pasaturo had a double-double with 29 points and 10 rebounds, shooting 50% from the field. Rosa Perone, will play a key role for the Dolphins, where she shot 71% from the field, pouring in 12 points and 9 rebounds. Bloodhound Cassandra Taylor, notched 20 points on the Dolphins, shooting 50% behind the arc. Staten Island’s nationally ranked defense will look to close out the shooters and to dominate the boards as they look to advance in the Semi-Finals on Tuesday. When playing in the CUNYAC Postseason tournament quarterfinals, the Dolphins boast an outstanding 18-4 record.  The Dolphins have played John Jay in the postseason eight times, coming out victorious on five of those occasions.  The last playoff meeting came in 2015 where CSI knocked off the Bloodhounds 65-55 to advance to the semifinals.
