The College of Staten Island women’s basketball team will kick off tonight’s doubleheader against Lehman College. The Dolphins will look to bounce back after the loss to Brooklyn College to break their 11-game win streak. The matchup could go a long way in determining the CUNYAC Regular Season Championship and the No. 1 seed in the upcoming CUNYAC Postseason Basketball Tournament.

Players To Watch (CSI): Christina Pasaturo has become a very lethal player averaging 22.5 points per game and sitting first in the nation with 91 three-point field goals made. Samantha Flecker is second on the team with 15.5 points per game and is a key factor under the boards averaging 8.7 rebounds per game. Angelique Price sits third on the team with 11.6 points per game and Victoria Crea just reaches over 10 points with 10.3 points per game.
Players To Watch (LC): Amely Del Rosario pours in an average of 24.2 points per game good enough for first on the team. Lisa Fields, playing only eight games with the Lightning, averages 15.4 points per game and Lynda Fields averages 15.3 points per game. Krystal Pearson averages 14.7 points per game and is tied for first with 9.8 rebounds per game.
News & Notes: Last meeting between the Dolphins and the Lightening, the Dolphins led as much as 20 points heading into the final stanza. Lehman would then cut down the lead to seven with 22 seconds to go, but the Dolphins secured the game winning, 85-75. Pasaturo notched a double-double against the Lightning with 24 points and 11 rebounds, along with Crea who also grabbed 11 rebounds. Flecker tallied in 20 points with four rebounds. Price and Nihada Bracic both poured in 15 points shooting 50% behind the arc. The Dolphins defense will play a major role in tonight’s matchup with Lehman averaging 13.3 turnovers per game, while Staten Island is ranked 17th in the nation forcing 24.3 turnovers per game.
