Join us for “Narrative Visions of the Willowbrook State School,” an exhibition of artwork created by Dr. Obiora N. Anekwe in the Library (Building 1L) Rotunda Gallery from Monday, May 1 to Friday, June 2.
This exhibition features artwork created by Dr. Obiora N. Anekwe in his book, Narrative Visions of the Willowbrook State School: An Artistic Survey in Bioethics and Special Education (Ethically Speaking Press, 2016). He was inspired “to tell stories through art for countless children with special needs who were negatively affected by the former Willowbrook State School” by a campus visit and resources held in the College of Staten Island’s Archives and Special Collections.
