The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s swimming and diving seasons will be kicking off in late-October, and the teams are excited about the road ahead. The team has unveiled its 2017-18 slate of competition, featuring familiar opponents against a home-heavy backdrop in time for postseason play in early-February.
The Dolphins kick off their 2017-18 campaign with their first three meets at home over just seven days. It starts with an October 28 showdown against Mount Saint Mary College at the Sports & Recreation Center, a team that the Dolphins have not faced since 2009. Six days later, the Dolphins intro their CUNYAC schedule when they host Brooklyn College at 5pm, also at home, and the team will turn around the next day and host FDU-Florham for a Saturday matinee, at 1pm.
After a road contest of November 7 at William Paterson, CSI again stays home for a pair, the second a showdown with Baruch College on November 17. The Dolphins will then travel for a three-day invitational at Drew University before crucial back-to-back road meets at Lehman College (December 8) and a women’s only meet against Hunter College (December 11).
CSI bunkers in at home again for three-straight meets to close the regular season, concluding with the CUNYAC finale against York College on January 25.
The CUNYAC Championship will take place on the weekend of February 2-4 at Lehman College. The men will be defending their championship while the women will look to build on their third place finish of a year ago. Following the CUNYAC’s, the Dolphins will participate in the Metropolitan Conference Championships on February 16-18 at Rutgers University in Piscataway, NJ.
