Swimming & Diving picked up four CUNYAC weekly awards this week after going 1-1 during the week. Swimming standouts Ewa Wojciechowska and Jonathan Gorinshteyn both won CUNYAC Swimmer of the Week, while Alyssa Dunn and Adil El Haddad picked up the conference’s Diver of the Week award.
Ewa Wojciechowska earns her first CUNYAC Swimmer of the Week honor after a good week of blazing through the pool. She would finish four events in first place, three of which came against CUNYAC opponents, Brooklyn College. Against, the Bulldogs Wojciechowska would lead her squad in the 200-yard Freestyle, 100-yard Freestyle while also anchoring her team in the 200-yard Medley Relay.
Alyssa Dunn continues to shine on the diving boards for the Dolphins. Dunn earns her second CUNYAC Diver of the Week award after displaying her talents on the one-meter diving board. Dunn has placed first in every meet this season as she dazzles the crowd with her dives. Dunn’s best performance came against the Bulldogs when she scored a career-high, 124.50 to help lift her team to their first win of the season.
Jonathan Gorinshteyn picked up five first-place finishes this week. Gorinshteyn’s only second-place finish came against Brooklyn in the relay. Outside of that race, Gorinshteyn was able to dominate his competitor’s in the pool. He helped his team earn a first-place finish in the 200-yard Medley Relay against FDU-Florham before narrowly claiming first with a time of 24.24 in the 50-yard Freestyle.
Adil El Haddad put up season high’s this week, earning first-place in three of four events. El Haddad scored 214 on the three-meter diving against after scoring 191.33 on the one-meter.
