The College of Staten Island softball team comes into day 3 of the Tucson Invitational 1-3, looking to even out at 3-3 against #21 Central College and Augsburg today.

Players to Watch (CSI): Nicolette Trapani will once again step into the circle looking to pick up her first win of the season. Patricia Riches paces the Dolphins with a .400 batting average but she will want to improve upon that number after finishing her rookie season batting .500+. Freshman Arianna DiBenedetto will look to create plays from the outfield as well as look for her first collegiate hit. 
Players to Watch (CC):  Shaye Witte leads Central with a .519 batting average.  Emily Walton has a team-high 11 RBI with a home run while hitting .375. Mariah Fritz has started six games for Central and is 4-2 with a team-best 3.19 ERA.
Players to Watch (AU): Shannon Dale is batting a red-hot .727 through four games. Samantha Anderson leads the pack with 6 RBI while sitting fourth on the team with a .467 batting average. Anderson also pulls double duty in the circle with a 2-0 record and a 0.00 ERA with 17 strikeouts. 
News & Notes: Staten Island will look to get their bats going as they have been relatively quiet by their standards. As a team, the Dolphins are hitting .174 with five doubles. Augsburg has played well in their first four games of the season, hitting .386 as a squad and making sure they clear the bases as they’ve tallied 28 RBI. Central comes into today’s game on a three-game win streak, averaging eight runs per game during that stretch.
