The College of Staten Island softball team has won four of their last five games and come in 4-0 in the CUNYAC. Today they will face off against their CUNYAC rivals, Hunter College, at Randall’s Island.

Players to Watch (CSI): Gabriele DeLeon is having a breakout season, leading the Dolphins with a .421 batting average and tallying 16 RBI. Jamie Holmes is also having a solid season for the Dolphins, batting .360 with 15 RBI and a home run. Antoinette Galbo has been shifty on the bases, attempting four steals and successfully reaching on three of them. From the circle, Nicolette Trapani boasts a 3.13 ERA and 42 strikeouts while Alison Meagher follows closely with a 3.50 ERA and a 6-3 record.
Players to Watch (HC): Colleen McCoy leads the Hawks with a .443 batting average while also leading the team with eight doubles. Clearing the bases and bringing in runs for the Hawks has been Alisha Dovicsak, leading the charge with 18 RBI and a pair of home runs. Nicole Guzzone has been the most efficient pitcher for the Hawks in the circle, boasting a 4.85 ERA with a team-high 14 strikeouts.
News & Notes: Staten Island has won five straight against the Hawks which includes a 5-0 win in last year’s CUNYAC Championship game. The Dolphins last suffered a loss to the Hawks in 2016, 3-1, when they played at Randall’s Island. CSI has struggled against Hunter on the road, posting a 12-15 record when they play away from the CSI Softball Complex. Over the five-game win streak the Dolphins have over the Hawks, they have averaged six runs per game while holding Hunter under one run per game. Hunter comes into today’s doubleheader on a six-game win streak, knocking down Lehman during that stretch. At home, Hunter is 4-2 this year and averaging just under eight runs per contest.
