The College of Staten Island softball team steps back on their field this afternoon to take on non-conference opponents, Farmingdale State College.

Players to Watch (CSI): Jamie Holmes is coming off of a week in which she earned CUNYAC Player of the Week honors, after going 7-for-13 over a four-game span. During that stretch, Holmes added four runs and collected five RBI. Julianna Cretella sits second on the team with a .353 batting average also tallying two RBI. Vanessa Jioia and Gabriele DeLeon are tied for the lead on the team with eight RBI with Jioia edging out DeLeon with a .323 batting average. In the circle, the duo of Nicolette Trapani and Alison Meagher will look to continue their great form against the Rams this afternoon.
Players to Watch (FC): Jessica Lombardo paces the Rams with a .394 batting average and 11 RBI. Lombardo also leads the team with four doubles with Kayla Nunez sitting behind her with two. Haley Schmeiser has two of the three triples the Rams have hit this season and will look to secure more this afternoon. Jaxie Collard leads the Rams with 36.1 innings pitched and has a 4.82 ERA and is 2-4 on the year.
News & Notes: The Dolphins come into today’s doubleheader on a four-game win streak, averaging seven runs per game while holding their opponents to one run per game. The Rams have won two of their last three games during their trip to Clermont, Florida. The Rams have committed 29 errors through 12 games this season compared to just 12 for the Dolphins. Staten Island has won three of the last five meetings and boasts a 5-4 record at the CSI Softball Complex.
