The College of Staten Island softball team will take on CUNYAC opponents, John Jay College this afternoon at the CSI Softball Complex. The Dolphins are coming off of a sweep of Old Westbury to extend their win streak to six in a row.

Players to Watch (CSI): Christina Cerverizzo is coming off of a doubleheader in which she went 6-for-7 with three runs and a pair of RBI. Cerverizzo has also been flawless in the field this season, boasting a perfect fielding percentage. On the season, Cerverizzo is hitting .347  with a total of 9 RBI. Antoinette Galbo has been outstanding on the bases, recording a team-high five triples to go along with her .386 batting average. Julianna Cretella also had a nice outing against Old Westbury, going 5-for-6 with four runs.
Players to Watch (JJC): Mariela Guzman has stood out for the Bloodhounds this season, batting a team-high .464 with 18 RBI and 12 extra base hits. Lisa Pellegrino has infused strength into the Bloodhounds’ lineup, batting .430 and collecting a team-high 29 RBI and five home runs. Tommi Mandell has used her speed this season to get extra bases with 13 stolen bases, which leads the team. In the circle, Lisa Pellegrino boasts the best ERA on the team with a 7.37 ERA and 55 strikeouts. 
News & Notes: At the CSI Softball Complex, CSI is 35-3 all-time against the Bloodhounds and have won 17 straight dating back to 2010. As a team, John Jay is hitting .313 on the year while Staten Island comes in hitting .317. John Jay has had issues in the field this season, tallying 85 errors while CSI has committed 35 this season.
