The College of Staten Island women’s soccer squad clinched their fourth-straight CUNYAC Championship on Saturday and has learned their fate for the NCAA Division III National Championship Tournament.  The Dolphins will travel to Newport News, Virginia, and will take on Christopher Newport University.  Scranton University will take on Arcadia University in the other opening round game that will take place on Saturday at the CNU campus.  The two winners face off on Sunday.

The Dolphins are making their fourth trip to the NCAA National Championship, having fallen to Messiah in both 2015 & 2016, and John Hopkins in 2017.  Saturday’s meeting with CNU will be the first in team history.

CNU is a member of the Capital Athletic Conference, and sport a 17-1 record this season, they defeated Mary Washington in the CAC title game, 3-1, to earn entry to the tournament.  The two teams share no common opponents.

Scranton finished the season 15-1-3.  They defeated Susquehanna University in the Landmark Conference Championship on penalty kicks in their conference title game.  They play a 12-5-3 Arcadia team that made the tournament on an at-large bid after falling to No. 3 Messiah College in the MAC Championship, 1-0.
