The Dolphins are coming off of their first victory of the season last weekend, and after several days of being idle, they are getting set for their next match of the season when they face off against St. Joseph’s College in a make-up of a previously rained-out contest in early March.

CSI vs. ST. JOSEPH’S COLLEGE – LONG ISLAND
Matchup: College of Staten Island (1-1) vs. St. Joseph’s – LI (1-1)
Where: St. Joseph’s College – 155 West Roe Boulevard, Patchogue, NY
All-Time Series:  CSI leads, 8-4
Last Meeting: April 14, 2018 – CSI won 9-0
Players to Watch (CSI): The Dolphins are coming off of a great day against St. Joseph’s College of Brooklyn.  Matthew Vesci was a double-winner.  He was a part of the No. 2 Doubles team and was a winner in the top flight in Singles play.  Vesci is now 2-0 in Doubles this season, along with Tao Lin, who also picked up a win in Singles.  Ivi Selenica picked up his first win, playing in Doubles only.  Also picking up their first wins yesterday were Raymond Hwang, Lesly DeCastro and Alex Tsui.
Players to Watch (SJC-LI):  It’s still early in the year but No. 5 Singles player Dylan Trude has gotten off to a hot start, boasting a 2-0 record in singles play.  Ryan Freeley has also played at No. 1 for the first two matches of the season and sports a 1-1 record there, as does Nick Bongiorno at the No. 2.  Vinny Spano and William Vita teamed up for a 1-0 record at No. 3 Doubles this season , while Freeley and Kyle Conway, who usually plays at No. 3 Singles are the usual pair at No. 1 Doubles.  They are 1-1 in that spot this season.
News & Notes:  CSI has had a lot of success through the years against SJC-LI and they hope to continue that trend this afternoon.  CSI is 8-4 all-time against SJC, but have won seven of the last eight and four in a row dating back to the 2015 season.  The last two years, CSI has won the contests, 9-0, so the Eagles are looking for some retribution here today. CSI is 3-2 all-time on the road against St. Joseph’s as well.  The Eagles’ last win over the Dolphins came in April of 2014, a 7-2, win in Staten Island.  The last time they defeated CSI on home turf back was back in 2010, a 9-0 victory.  After today’s match, CSI will be back in action less than 24 hours later at home for their opening CUNYAC match of the season against Hunter College.
