Ciancio batted over .400 last week, raising his overall batting average to .333. Steven Collica and Joseph Decelie may see some innings today. Collica is 1-0 with a 3.38 ERA while Decelie is 0-1 with an 8.31 ERA.
Players to Watch (PC): The Panthers are batting almost .300 as a team, and they are being led by the big swing of Dylan Flynn, who is at .405 this season, leading Purchase with 21 hits and 10 extra-bases, including five triples. He and Patrick Wallace (.364) share the team-lead with 10 RBI. John Fitzgerald is also hitting well, boasting a .389 average with five doubles. Nick Tuozzola is also up there with a .318 average, boasting a pair of doubles. On the hill, look for Cody Hennequin and/or CJ Owens to get some work in. News & Notes: Their hasn’t been a lot of history between these two sides, as they have only met four times in total. The two teams renewed the rivalry after a six-year hiatus, with CSI taking a 10-8, high-scoring, win a year ago in Staten Island. Before that, the teams last played in 2012, a 4-0 CSI win, and in 2011 the two teams split a doubleheader at the CSI Baseball Complex. CSI and Purchase share three common opponents, having played CCNY, Yeshiva, and Mount St. Vincent. CSI is 3-3 against those teams while Purchase sports a 4-1 record against those schools, their only loss coming to Mount St. Vincent on Saturday in game one of a doubleheader against them. Prior to that loss, the Panthers had won six games in a row after starting the season 4-4. Purchase is 2-0 on the road this season. The Dolphins, meanwhile, are hoping to find some consistency. They are 4-6 at home. In their eight wins this season, CSI is averaging 12.5 runs per game and are holding opponents to just 3.5 runs per game, but in their 11 losses, the Dolphins are scoring just 4.5 runs per game and are allowing an average of 11.3 runs per game.
