All-Time Series:  CSI leads, 10-2
Last Meeting:  April 6, 2013 – CSI won both, 12-0 & 15-3
Players to Watch (CSI): Patricia Riches continues her hot hitting, extending her hit streak to 10 games, now batting .553, with 52 hits with a team-best 10 doubles and three triples.  Sierra Kaplanek is batting .354, scattering 29 hits and a team-best four home runs and 32 RBI.  Antoinette Galbo is next in line at .345, scoring 26 runs while leading the team with 10 stolen bases.  CSI pitcher Alison Meagher got plenty of work this week and is now 7-3 with a 1.40 ERA in 65 innings.  She’s also added a pretty explosive bat, posting a .361 average after 36 at-bats with a pair of doubles and a home run.
Players to Watch (SJC):  Few have been as good as Ashleigh Hartwig this season, as she is batting a healthy .479 this year, with a team best 46 hits, 14 doubles, four home runs and 35 RBI.  Alexis Buchanen is also one to watch as she is batting .379, scattering 36 hits with a team-best 25 runs scored.  Victoria Mahoney is hitting .363 with six extra bases including a pair of triples and a homer.  Mahoney is also plenty busy in the circle, posting 88 innings of work with a 6-9 record and a 3.58 ERA.  Jessica Mecham is at 5-4 with a 3.41 ERA in 51 innings of work, and should see a start today as well.
News & Notes:  These teams are renewing a rivalry that has been dormant for six years.  The last meetings came back in 2013.  All but two meetings have occurred at CSI, and the Dolphins are 10-0 in those games.  The only two SJC-BK wins came back in 2002, when they games were played in Brooklyn.  CSI has won the last six contests dating back to the 2003 season, over a span of three doubleheaders.  SJC-BK is looking to stay perfect against the CUNYAC this season, having beaten and tied Hunter, Brooklyn twice, and John Jay twice, for a 5-0-1 record this season.  CSI is 4-2 against those same teams.  The two teams have also played Farmingdale State this season, with CSi splitting a doubleheader and the Bears falling in both contests, 10-0, and 6-3.  CSI also split with St. Joseph’s – Long Island, while SJC lost both times to the Eagles.  After today, CSI will have Friday off before going on the road against Lehman College in their CUNYAC doubleheader finale on Saturday, and then return home on Sunday for the College of Mount Saint Vincent for Senior Day.
