Since the start of the pandemic, CSI’s Public History Coronavirus Chronicle has been tracing the impact of the health crisis on its Facebook page.

Six photos and videos from this project are prominently featured in a new online exhibit at the Museum of the City of New York entitled New York Responds: The First Six Months. These are the only items that represent Staten Island in the exhibit, which includes 100 items. Two photos by Professor Susan Smith Peters, one of the organizers of the CSI Public History page, are featured, along with two from Steve White, a freelance photographer and firefighter. In addition, a video blog from CSI MSEd student Ashley Olivetti and a school blog by CSI History grad Andrew Savage were included.

Congratulations to Dr. Smith-Peter and her team for this recognition, and for the important role they have played in documenting this unprecedented time in the history of Staten Island.

In closing, I wish you all a safe and relaxing holiday season.
