The Office of Student Life, Student Government, the Campus Activities Board, and Intramurals and Recreation, are all proud to announce that the week of April 11-14 will be designated as Spirit Week at the College of Staten Island, and will feature of host of activities and events designed to bring out school spirit and engagement opportunities for students, staff, and faculty, all week long.
A precursor to Spirit Week will actually begin with an event this coming Friday as, weather-permitting, CSI will take on their rivals at Queens College on the baseball diamond at 3:00pm. The game will feature Baseball Bingo with prizes handed out to winners who fill their card according to what happens on the field of play.
After a weekend Campus Cleanup event scheduled for Saturday, April 9, official Spirit Week programming will then pick up in earnest on Monday, April 11. Music, speeches, the CSI Cheerleaders, and a barbeque will highlight Monday’s Spirit Week Pep Rally event from noon-2:00pm, taking place right outside the Campus Center Plaza. It will be a great chance to learn about some of the other upcoming events and take in a free barbeque lunch for students.
On Tuesday, April 12, students can utilize the Rotunda in the Campus Center for Spirit Week’s Ultimate Gaming Event, where they can play their favorite games on Xbox, PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, and more from noon-4:30pm, with free refreshments and raffles and prizes awarded throughout.
Participants are asked to come hungry for Wednesday’s Spirit Event on April 13, the Food & Games Festival. Food trucks will be on hand outside the Campus Center Plaza with free food for students and for faculty/staff ticket purchase, while attendees can enjoy great outdoor games like cornhole, giant Jenga, volleyball, and more, from noon-4:00pm.
Two great events will follow on Thursday, April 14. First, students will square off against faculty and staff in Flag Football, to be played at the CSI Softball Complex, from 2:30pm-4:15pm. Later on, from 8:00pm-10:00pm, the Campus Center Plaza will turn into the PaintU Electronic Dance Party, where the music will be pumping and the paint will be flowing.
All of these events promise to be a great prelude to Spring Break, which begins on Friday, April 15 and extends through April 22.
