Carol Brower, Director of the Office of Student Life, recalls the wonderful time that everyone who participated in the Relay had last year. “Last year, The Division of Student Affairs/Office of Student Life sponsored our first Relay for Life of the College of Staten Island that celebrated the lives of those who have had cancer, remembered those we have lost to cancer, and raised thousands of dollars to fight back against a disease that takes too much from our community.  Our Relay took place on a beautiful spring day where our own CSI students demonstrated their strong passion and commitment to civic engagement and leadership to make a meaningful difference in the lives of so many others.  It was a nice, fun, and inspiring day here at CSI where many across our campus community came together for a party with a purpose.  Cancer does not stop during tough economic times and it was wonderful that the CSI community came together to help serve others.  We are excited and very much looking forward to this year’s Relay For Life of the College of Staten Island.”

Everyone from the College and Staten Island communities is encouraged to participate by forming a Relay team or joining an existing one. In addition, when Relay team members aren’t on the track, they can hang out with other participants and enjoy food, games, Zumba, and live entertainment.
