Dr. Michael Dreher will be joining CSI as the Interim Dean of Health Sciences effective Monday, Aug. 1 and following interviews and consultation with the Health Sciences Chairs. Dr. Dreher is joining us from Medgar Evers, where he was recently Associate Provost and Assistant Vice President for Academic Affairs (2019-2022). Previously, he was Associate Vice President for Healthcare Innovation and Special Projects at the College of New Rochelle (2017-2019), and before that, Dean of the Elizabeth Bel LaVacca School of Nursing and Healthcare Professions/Tenured Professor at that institution. Prior to that, he was on the Nursing Faculty at the College of Nursing and Health Professions at Drexel University, where he also served as Associate Director of Undergraduate Programs (2002-2004), Interim Chair of MSN and RN/BSN Programs (2006), and Founding Chair of the Doctoral Nursing Department (2004-2010). Dr. Dreher has his PhD in Nursing Science from Widener University and a Master’s in Clinical Nursing and a Baccalaureate in Nursing, both from the University of South Carolina. He is also a registered professional nurse in New York.
Michael has deep experience in building health science programs, and also in online pedagogy. I am delighted to have someone with such experience heading up our School of Health Sciences, especially during this critical time for CSI. Please join me in welcoming Dr. Dreher to CSI.
