The Verrazzano Honors Program at the College of Staten Island is pleased to announce that next fall’s incoming first-year students will receive their choice of a laptop or tablet when they start school in August 2023.

“We’re thrilled that CSI has committed these funds to recruit more outstanding students to our program, and we’re certain it will make a real difference,” notes Dr. Cheryl Craddock, Associate Director of the Verrazzano Honors Program. “We’ve always provided students with personalized advising, early registration, and a sense of community. Our students receive study abroad scholarships, and a place to hang out in our lounge, but I won’t lie, it’s nice to be able to give them something so tangible!”

Interim Director Dr. Richard Flanagan concurs. “As a faculty member, I look forward to working with Verrazzano students. Verrazzano Honors helps them get everything out of their college experience. It’s great to be able to reward our incoming freshmen this way. No doubt they will carry on the tradition of excellence.”

Verrazzano will be able to admit up to 100 students, who will be able to choose between two options—either a laptop or a tablet and accessories—when they accept their offer of admission to Verrazzano.

High school seniors can begin the application now. Review of completed applications will begin on February 1, 2023, and the first wave of decisions will go out in early March.
