The CSI community is invited to observe Native American Heritage Month with an engaging presentation by a member of the CSI faculty who examines the intersections among Indigenous survivance, tribal sovereignty, the U.S. legal system, and his own experiences navigating generational trauma and Indigenous identity in an Ecuadorian immigrant household.

george emilio sanchez (PCA) will discuss his most recent project, “In the Court of the Conqueror,” in conversation with Dr. Catherine Lavender (History/WGS). sanchez’s performance piece, created in collaboration with visual artist Patty Ortiz, has been presented in sold-out performances across the country.
