The Office of Sponsored Programs and Research (OSPR) is pleased to announce that John Tsapogas, RF CUNY’s Director of the Office of Award Pre-Proposal Support, will be conducting a workshop for the CSI Community: “How to get NSF Funding: A View From the ‘Inside’.” As a former senior manager in NSF’s Office of International Science and Engineering (OISE), John offers tremendous insight and is a valuable resource for assisting faculty in preparing successful grant proposals.

Overview: The Webinar presenter is John Tsapogas, whose 30-year career at NSF provided him with an inside view on how NSF works. The Webinar is designed for CUNY faculty and will focus on strategies for working with the National Science Foundation. It will address the structure of NSF’s application process, strategies for working with program directors, resources available for proposal preparation, details on NSF’s merit review process, reasons for high and low ratings, help on interpreting reviews and panel summaries, tips on writing competitive proposals, a discussion on NSF’s merit review criteria, and CUNY and NSF resources available to support your proposal preparation.
