This summer, the Center for Advising and Academic Success (CAAS) and the Office of Recruitment and Admissions will once again collaborate on in-person engagement activities for our incoming freshmen. CLASS 100: CSI’s Lessons and Advisement in Student Success is an introduction to the fundamentals of college life. CLASS prepares incoming freshmen to successfully transition from high school to college and teaches each student how to get the most out of the First-Year Experience. For your reference, a sample CLASS outline is online.

Students will be required to complete virtual New Student Orientation via Blackboard and attend one CLASS 100 session. They will be invited to vNSO and CLASS after successfully completing CSI Advisement and Registration Training (CART). It will take place in the Center for the Arts (Building 1P) on the following dates:

  • Monday, July 10, 8:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday, July 18, 8:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Thursday, Aug. 3, 8:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Tuesday, Aug. 8, 8:00am to 1:00pm and 1:00pm to 5:00pm

We will run two sessions per day with a Student Services Fair in the 1P Atrium on each day from noon to 1:00pm.  Both the morning group and the afternoon group will attend the fair together. If your department/program would like to reserve a table and participate in the Fair, please contact John Kim, Admissions Advisor, by Monday, June 26. John may be reached at John.Kim@csi.cuny.edu or 718.982.2012.

Please feel free to contact us if you have any questions or concerns.
