Due to the expected extreme heat and humidity beginning today, Monday, June 23, and continuing through Wednesday, June 25, our administration and the Buildings and Grounds team are working to meet the New York State Independent System Operator (NYSISO) energy reduction target.
To support this effort:
• Class Consolidation: The Registrar will consolidate classes into as few buildings as possible through Wednesday. Affected instructors and students will be notified directly.
• Remote Work: Non-essential staff who are eligible may work remotely starting at 4:00 PM each day, with supervisor approval. Department Heads should coordinate with their division Administrator regarding remote work assignments.
• Building Temperatures: While interior temperatures may rise slightly, the Central Plant will work to minimize the impact on occupied areas. For any climate-related concerns, please contact the plant at 718.982.3204 or 3205.
• Energy-Saving Actions: All campus occupants can contribute by turning off lights in unused rooms, and shutting down computers, appliances, and other non-essential electronics during this period.
Thank you for your cooperation in helping us reduce energy usage during this critical time.
