CSI-TV will be featuring a host of new LIVE and On Demand programming this month. Take a look below for the March lineup.
THURSDAY, MARCH 19
3 – 4pm: CSI Jazz Ensemble – This big band, student performers learning the art of jazz improvisation, is led by Dr. Darrell Smith. The group offers a program of jazz compositions from a variety of composers and stylistic idioms.
THURSDAY, MARCH 26
3 – 4pm: CSI Jazz Ensemble – The Jazz Repertory Combo, also led by Dr. Darrell Smith, is a small group of students learning to improvise in the jazz medium. The intimate setting allows for more solo improvisation, giving students a chance to tell a story through music.
TUESDAY, MARCH 31
3 – 4pm: Voices of Palestine – The work of Palestinian poets gives us a vivid impression of the Palestinian experience. CSI Music’s Assistant Professor William R. Bauer reads these poets’ work while spontaneously creating musical settings at the piano.
All of the music performances above are free and best viewed in person in the Recital Hall, 1P-120. Can’t make it? Tune in to CSI-TV for live coverage.
