WSIA is off the air due to an ongoing power outage at the station’s transmitter site on Todt Hill. Con Ed has been working to restore power to the site for the past several days, and the most recent estimate for power restoration is Friday, Nov. 9. WSIA’s engineering staff has been unable to perform a thorough inspection of the equipment at the transmitter due to dangerous conditions from downed power lines in the area. If there is damage to the tower or other components, WSIA will remain off the air as repairs are performed. If damage is minimal, broadcasting will resume as soon as power is restored.
