The College of Staten Island men’s and women’s cross-country season is right around the bend and there is still time to be a part of the action. The cross-country program, led by Head Coach Robert Russo, will be holding an informational meeting on Tuesday, August 26, at 7:30pm at the Sports & Recreation Center (Room 204) for all potential hopefuls, and CSI hopes to see YOU there.
The cross-country season officially gets underway on Sunday, September 7 at the Baruch College Invitational at Van Cortlandt Park in the Bronx, but practice gets into high gear soon. The informational meeting is designed to get all tryout candidates in place. Anyone interested in joining the team will be need a physical on file in the training office. Medical forms can be obtained in the building 1R, Room 204 at the front desk or in the trainer’s room in 1R, Room 106. Training forms can also be obtained via the CSI Athletics website here. If you have any questions, please email Head Coach Robert Russo at robert.russovikos@csi.cuny.edu.
Last year the men’s cross-country squad made history, winning their first-ever CUNYAC Championship and making an appearance at the NCAA Division III Regional Championships. The women showed improvement with every race and with most all runners slated to return in 2014, the squad is looking for increased prominence. Don’t delay; run into the sports season with CSI cross-country.
