Both Softball and Baseball are in action today at 4:00 pm.  The Softball program will be taking on #7 Rowan University while the Baseball program takes on Farmingdale State.

The Dolphins took on Drew University Tuesday night in the 12th Annual Grace Hillery Breast Cancer Awareness Game and defeated the Rangers 11-2.  The game also raised $8,000 for Breast Cancer research and for Allie Vreeland, the breast cancer survivor.

The last time these two teams met was on April 17, 2014 where the Rams defeated the Dolphins 8-2 in Farmingdale, NY. Farmingdale leads the Dolphins 9-4 all-time.  The Dolphins however, have won three of the last four meetings and are 3-4 when they play at the Tomas D. Morales Field. Staten Island is also on an eight game win streak and will want to keep that streak alive today against the Rams.

The Rams are currently on a three game win streak.  Farmindale State is in seventh place within the Skyline and boasts the third best batting average (.324).

The Dolphins played their final CUNYAC game of the season on Sunday. The Dolphins defeated the Bloodhounds in a close game in game one 4-3 then went on to show their dominance in game two by winning 20-1.  Brittany Smith went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and three runs in the victory. Trapani who started in the circle for the Dolphins pitched all five innings and allowed four hits and struck out six batters.

The Dolphins and the Profs have split the only meeting in program history which came in 2007.  After getting shutout 8-0 in game one the Dolphins rallied back and took the second game 3-2.  This will be the first ever meeting at the CSI Softball Complex.  The Dolphins currently rank fourth in the nation in runs scored with 245. Both Smith and Snead are ranked fifth and sixth in the nation in runs per game.
