CSI GAMEDAY: MEN’S BASKETBALL VS. STEVENS, 7PM

The College of Staten Island men’s basketball team is still looking for its first road win of the season, and they will look for it tonight when they travel to Hoboken to take on the Stevens Institute of Technology at 7pm.  The Dolphins are 2-3 overall this season, recently scoring a win on home turf against John Jay College.  The Ducks enter at 2-1, coming off of a recent home win over Rutgers-Newark.

Players To Watch (CSI):  Coming off his biggest game of the season is Khaleeq Baum, who notched 18 points and a career-high 17 rebounds in a big win over JJC, and he continues to pace the team with an 8.2 rebounds per contest along with a healthy 13.0 points per game average.  Frank Schettino is the team leader in points (19.4 ppg.) and a total of 33 assists.  Edin Bracic continues to pace the Dolphins behind the arc with 12 treys and a 40% clip from downtown.  Robert Rossiter leads the team with 6 blocked shots.
Players To Watch (STV):  The Ducks are led by Spencer Cook and Patrick Barron in the scoring category as they average 13.5 and 13.3 points per game, respectively.  Barron is coming off of a 17-point outing against Rutgers-Newark, a game in which he only played 19 minutes. Ryan Coffey lingers around the rim and cleans up and loose balls to make sure that opposing teams don’t get second chance opportunities.  Coffey is averaging a healthy 7.3 rebounds per game while pouring in 9.4 points per game.
News & Notes: CSI is averaging 70 points per game this season as a team which is down 9 points from last season’s average. On the glass, the Dolphins have been the better side, edging out their opponents by a margin of five per game.The Ducks have been proficient this season, scoring 79 points per game, 15 more than their opponents this season, while averaging 39 rebounds per game. The last time these two teams met, CSI’s Vincent Dacunto drained a buzzer beater three-point basket, to give the Dolphins a 97-95 win over the Ducks in dramatic fashion. Stevens has lost their only game of the season by two points which came against FDU-Florham in the final 36 seconds of the game.  The Dolphins have struggled on the road this season, averaging just 69 points per game while shooting just 42% from the floor.  CSI at home is much better, scoring 74 points per game and shooting 48% from the floor.
