All-Time Series:  CSI leads, 27-10
Last Meeting: April 18, 2018 – CSI won 2-1
Players to Watch (CSI): Jett Nouvertne continue to pace CSI in hitting as he is at .410 now, ranked 74th in the nation.  Nouvertne is also third in the nation in triples with seven, two away from the CSI all-time record in that category.  Sean Becker has raised his average up to .386, and he leads the Dolphins with 12 extra-base hits, including a team-high 9 doubles.  In limited at-bats Joseph Manzi is batting .381 (8-21) while Domenick Castiglione is at .360, placing second on the team with 23 runs scored.  Andrew Nathan is batting .356 and has motored up to third on the team with 18 RBI.  Look for Alexis Santos and Daniel Farcia to merit some innings today, and we could see Joseph Decelie as well.  Santos is 3-0 with a 8.22 ERA in 23 innings, while Garcia is 1-2 with an 11.85 ERA.  Due for a start, Decelie is 1-1 with a 5.30 ERA in 18.2 innings of work.
Players to Watch (USMMA): The Mariners have some hot bats in the lineup, led by Jesse Reinebold’s .430 clip in 121 at-bats.  He leads the team with 52 hits and 29 RBI.  Right on his tail is Vincenzo Altieri, who is hitting .419 with 49 hits, a team-high 27 runs scored and 28 RBI.  He is also tied for the team-lead with 13 stolen bases, sharing that distinction with Kyle Cunningham who is batting .339.  Garrett Aichele is having a great freshman campaign with a .371 average, spreading out eight extra-base hits.  Matt Mundorf is also a huge factor.  He is batting .360 with 19 RBI and a team-leading 16 walks which puts his on-base percentage up to .417.  Aichele is due for a start for USMMA.  He is 2-0 with a 2.05 ERA in 22 innings in his five previous starts.
News & Notes: CSI’s win last year over USMMA was their third-straight in the series, and was a thrilling game that CSI won by walk-off in the bottom of the ninth inning.  In fact, four out of the last six meetings dating back to 2003 have been decided on by three runs or less between these two teams.  Today’s matchup marks the fifth-straight meeting between these two teams on Staten Island.  USMMA’s last win here was back in 2011, a 4-3 decision.  Overall, CSI is 14-6 against the Mariners on Staten Island.   USMMA is 2-0 against the CUNYAC this season, having beaten Baruch and John Jay this season.
