As you are aware, CUNY-wide, College Assistant and other hourly classified staff appointments are currently being made on a month-to-month basis.
Thus far, those who normally would be assigned work hours in a given month, but for COVID-19, will be reappointed for that month. Appointments will typically be for the usual number of assigned hours not to exceed a maximum number of hours set by CUNY.
College Assistants and other hourly classified staff who do not normally work in a given month will receive non-reappointment letters for that month. Additionally, as per usual, College Assistants and other hourly classified staff who receive negative performance reviews will also receive non-reappointment letters. Letters, notifying each employee of the status of their appointment for the following month are sent out by the end of the current month.
Reappointment and non-reappointment letters have been sent out via email for the month of August. As is always the case, College Assistants and hourly classified staff who have been reappointed for August should remain in communication with their supervisors concerning appointed hours and schedules for the month. Notifications concerning September, will be sent by the end of August.
