By Ralf M. Peetz, PhD
In June 2021, CUNY Central OAA’s Innovative Pedagogy Team will offer a mindset mini-course for 200 faculty, staff, and administrators at all CUNY schools. This is an introduction to the Mindset GPS (Growth mindset, Purpose & Relevance, & Sense of Belonging) model developed by the University of Virginia’s Motivate Lab. The discussion portion of the course will be facilitated by six CUNY Mindset Fellows who have been chosen based on their experience with learning mindsets. All CUNY faculty, staff, and administrators are welcome to apply, so feel free to forward to your colleagues.
Course Dates/Hours:
A live kick-off meeting is Friday, June 11 at 11:00am to noon. This meeting will be recorded for those unable to attend. The rest of the course is asynchronous, to be completed by Monday, June 21, 2021. The entire course assignments should take approximately two to three hours. See the online flyer for more course information.
Tasks and Compensation:
Each participant is required to
* participate in the course and complete all assignments between June 11 and 21, 2021.
* complete pre- and post-course surveys.
As a result of successful completion of the above tasks, all participants will receive a certificate of completion, and the faculty participants will receive $200 summer salary.
How to Apply:
If you are interested in participating in the course, please submit this form by the end of Friday, May 14. You will be notified whether or not you are selected to participate in the course by Friday, May 21.
