As the College is preparing for staff to return to campus the week of Aug. 2, please keep in mind that pursuant to  CUNY’s Flexible Work Guidelines all requests for reasonable accommodations, as well as general accommodations to work 100% remotely, must be submitted to HR for review and decision.

As always, if any faculty and/or staff are in need of a reasonable accommodation pursuant to CUNY’s Reasonable Accommodations and Academic Adjustments Policy, in connection with:

  • a disability
  • pregnancy, childbirth, or a medical condition related to pregnancy or childbirth
  • religious practices, and
  • status as a victim of domestic violence, sex offense, or stalking;

such faculty/staff member should complete the CUNY Reasonable Accommodation Request Form and submit it to Human Resources at HRAccomm@csi.cuny.edu. Reasonable Accommodation Requests will be addressed on a case-by-case basis. Faculty and staff who are requesting a general accommodation to work 100% remotely, for reasons that do not fall under the aforementioned policy, should complete the online form and submit it to Human Resources at HRAccomm@csi.cuny.edu. These requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis.

While there is currently no mandate for faculty and staff to be vaccinated to return to work on campus, getting vaccinated is strongly encouraged and is considered the best way to protect yourself and your loved ones from the Coronavirus. You can find detailed information on vaccinations on the VaxUpCUNY wWebpage. Those who were fully vaccinated or tested for COVID-19 in New York State are encouraged to apply for the Excelsior Pass, a fast and secure way to present digital proof of COVID-Vaccinations or negative COVID test results.

In addition, as many employees commute to work on public transportation, the following Websites may be helpful in learning about how to stay safe while using mass transit services:

We understand that some have reported feeling anxious about returning to work on campus and we encourage you to utilize the services of CUNY’s EAP, CCA@YourService, which includes on demand mental heath seminars and COVID 19 virtual support offerings (Company Code: CUNY).  In addition, confidential Counselors at CCA@YourService can be reached 24/7 at 800.833.8707, at no cost to you. To help with the anticipatory anxiety some may be feeling, Human Resources has scheduled a Return to Work Seminar, scheduled for Tuesday, July 20 at noon. We hope you will join us in this event hosted by our EAP.
