Niche, a market leader connecting colleges and schools with students and families, has named the College of Staten Island among its best schools in the nation, according to its 2023 report on the nation’s top colleges and universities.
Niche’s methodology for ranking is based on “rigorous analysis of academic, admissions, financial, and student life data from the U.S. Department of Education, along with millions of reviews from students and alumni.” For 2023 specifically, the organization also took a deeper look at students’ return on investment, considering the value of education in comparison to cost.
In this regard, the College of Staten Island was named among the Best Value Colleges in New York City Area, and among the top 750 Best Value Colleges in America.
CSI was also ranked among the nation’s best in diversity and safety. The campus was among just 1,500 schools nationally rated Most Diverse Colleges in America, and CSI’s highest mark was placing no. 280 out of 1,310 ranked colleges as Safest Campuses in America. In all, a total of more than 4,000 colleges and universities were considered in Niche’s studies.
