We would like to inform the campus community of the availability of funds to assist students in need. CUNY campuses have received these funds as part of a financial aid initiative approved by the CUNY Board of Trustees to prevent hunger and homelessness from interfering with the academic progress of CUNY students.
This is a critical but sensitive issue for both students and campuses, and we are enlisting your support to help communicate the availability of these funds.
A CSI Emergency Funds Committee comprised of representatives from various student service offices throughout the College has developed the CSI “Looking Out for Our Own” program. Our goal is to help students who may be struggling with issues of food insecurity or housing instability by providing immediate support as well as referral to city, state, and private resources, if needed.
Assistance may include dining service vouchers, supplies from our on-campus food pantry, supermarket certificates, and other related services.
