Although all staff are required to take the trainings listed below (with the exception of the Gender-Based Violence training), the following is information specific for Instructional Staff:
CUNY requires that you complete the following annual trainings by Friday, May 30, 2025:
1. Ethics Training;
2. Workplace Violence Prevention Training (WVP);
3. Employee Sexual Misconduct Prevention and Response Training (ESPARC);
4. Cybersecurity Awareness Training; and
5. Gender-Based Violence Training [only if you are a supervisor or human resources employee]
These trainings are intended to reinforce CUNY’s commitment to maintaining an atmosphere of mutual respect, civility, accountability, and trust on our campus.
If you are appointed and/or have tenure as a full-time instructional staff member or have a Certificate of Continuous Employment or a Certificate of Continual Administrative Service (13.3b) in a full-time instructional staff position, you are expected to complete these required trainings during your regularly scheduled workday.
If you are appointed as a teaching adjunct (including graduate assistants with adjunct appointments), you are expected to complete these required trainings within the up to six contractual professional hours per semester designated under Article 15.2 of the PSC-CUNY agreement for required trainings. This communication serves as notice of the College’s designation of the up to six hours per semester from the professional hours under Article 15.2 for you to complete the required trainings.
If you are appointed as a non-teaching adjunct or a graduate assistant with a non-teaching adjunct assignment, you are expected to complete the above required trainings during your scheduled NTA hours.
All of the trainings you are required to take, except Ethics training, may be accessed by signing into your CUNY Blackboard account by using CUNYfirst credentials (i.e. username: John.Doe50@login.cuny.edu) and navigating to Organizations. Ethics training is currently available only via a live format at CSI, and through training sessions provided directly by the Commission on Ethics and Lobbying in Government (COELIG). CSI’s Ethics Officer, Catherine Ferrara, sent out an email on Wednesday, Sept. 18 indicating how to go about registering for remaining 2024 CSI/COELIG training sessions.
Please email HumanResources@csi.cuny.edu if you have any questions relating to the completion of the ESPARC, WVP, Gender-Based Violence and/or Cybersecurity Awareness trainings, and please email Catherine.Ferrara@csi.cuny.edu and Mona.Rosenstock@csi.cuny.edu with any questions related to completion of the required Ethics training.
Thank you for your cooperation.
